First Editions
The Cather Archive currently has four first editions available in electronic format: April Twilights (1903), The Troll Garden (1905), Alexander's Bridge (1912) and One of Ours (1922). These editions are encoded in Extensible Markup Language (XML) using the standards developed by the Text Encoding Initiative (TEI) and are presented complete with digital images of every surface in the original print edition.
In the future, we hope to present several more first editions, including O Pioneers! (1913), The Song of the Lark (1915), My Ántonia (1918), and Youth and the Bright Medusa (1920). Copyright restrictions prevent us from publishing digital versions of the first edition texts released after 1922.
